Guided tour of the work of art
Artistic authenticity certificate
Fred Forest work of art has value, not only for the concept itself, but also for the actual visual shape of the display.
An artistic concept which asserts that the ''Territory'' he has created is a place that belongs to the imaginary realm. That has its own autonomy and is, in some ways, an independent Nation within France.
To fully bring this idea to life, the artist has put together during a period of twenty years different kinds of signs and objects and has developed his work of Art with several actions one after the other, actions that have been closely followed by the media.
This artistic project as presented in several Museums, Galleries and within Cultural organizations. Several theoretical articles as well as press articles have been written on it.
In 1996, Fred Forest did turn ''The Square-Meter Territory '' into the ''Web Territory'', that was shown at the ''Imagina'' Monaco Art exhibition and at the Pierre Nouvion Art Gallery. Fred Forest ''moved'' his art work into the Net. From that time on, the Work of Art in Anserville became history. It is designed with different objects and set - ups that have remained in their original state since they were created. From then on, the active part of the ''Territory '' has developed on the Web. The web has become the real ''tool'' of Fred Forest work of art.

The artist's projects from its early stages in 1970 was a prophetic type of work of art that would later appear as ''computer thinking'' with such notions as ''combinatory'' and ''interactive''.
The ''Territory'' was, before its time, a tool for the present artistic practice, using the most sophisticated communication technology.
During a 30 years period, the work of art has worked in Anserville like a communication and a simulation game.
It has become a creative laboratory for futuristic ideas, treating of society problems in intuitive and imaginary ways. Part of the building is devoted to stage the project like a kind of ''Action Museum''. The other part is used as living areas, which spread over 200 m2 (656 square-feet).
The ''Territory '' project, since its creation in 1977, was the central theme of many exhibitions and reports in the newspapers, TV, radio as well as specialized Art Magazines (see artist's bibliography).
